I grew up in Cleveland, OH and yes I LOVE MY BROWNS!  I graduated from Shaw High School and from the University of Mount Union (then Mount Union College) After college, I enlisted as a Private 1st Class in the United States Marine Corps in the Combat Camera Military Occupation.  My assignments included Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii where I deployed to Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. I was assigned as a videographer to the White House Communications Agency where I documented the daily activities of the President of the United States.  I was assigned as the regional coordinator for Combat Camera Operations at Camp Pendleton, CA and deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom. I retired after 21 years from the Marine Corps at the rank of Captain. After the Marines, I worked as a morning news editor at KUSI-TV, channel 9 in San Diego, CA.

I like to be involved with my community.  I currently volunteer with the City of Oceanside Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).  We are trained in disaster preparedness and taught skills such as fire safety, search and rescue and disaster medical operations.  I also work with the Alzheimer's Association performing outreach to minority communities helping to make them aware of the services the Alzheimer's Association can assist caregivers with navigating.  I worked with the Carlsbad, CA library as a volunteer tutor with their Adult Learning Program, helping adult learners gain the ability to read and write.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Mount Union and attended the Motion Media Studies Program at the Newhouse School of Syracuse University, and attended The New School Master’s Certificate Program in Media Management.
